"Caraway Pippa"

bored_ponies_018.JPG

******* Price reduced (January 2010) ********
Caraway Pippa is a 2003 bay mare by Irish Park Caraway Finn (Hideaway's Sebastian) out of *Kindesella Contessa (Golden Star). She is a 14.3-1/2 hand bay mare. Pippa was inspected and approved in 2008 and noted as having "good Connemara pony type, ... excellent body depth and and good (8-1/2 inch) bone." She is sweet, loving and would do anything for a treat, but can be pushy if allowed. Pippa ranks toward the middle of the herd. She looks after and shares hay with her young buddies. She is physically talented -- likes to jump and works nicely in a frame. She enjoys trail riding and would probably enjoy the variery of Pony Club. If unsold, we intend to start Pippa cubbing in 2010. What she'd really like, though, is a person of her own. Presently, she is underutilized -- ridden occassionally as a husband horse. (She loves it!) Younger horses need miles and there are only so many hours in a day. Sales price is $5,500, negotiable to a permanent home.

Toolie O'Toole

opportunity_knocks.jpg

Toolie is the first of the 2008 foals, born on March 27. He is a carbon copy of his sire, Greystone Tiger O'Toole, who is a pretty close replica of his grandsire, MacDara. (See page 83 of "As I see it, Back and Forth Through the Mist, The Connemara Pony" by Pat Lyne for a picture of MacDara.) Toolie's dam is Cady O'Daly Limerick by Aladdin.

Toolie is smart and affectionate. He's be happy to stand around and love for hours. He's eager to learn and is already backing upon request, stepping up, lowering his head and moving away from pressure.

I see Toolie as maturing around 14 hands and think he could easily be a competitive ride/drive pony. Toolie has been gelded and is priced at $4,500.00, negotiable to the right home.

Indian Summer Celtic Belle

bored_ponies_027.JPG

Belle is the last of the 2008 foals, born on May 5. She's sweet and playful, and loves to hear the sound of her voice! She is by Greystone Tiger O'Toole out of Connleigh Carys McMor (Dallen McMor of Greystone). Belle's price is $5,000.00.

Belle is the little sister in a herd of nine mares. She goes with the flow, but can make a point and hold her own when she feels necessary. She's easy to be around and cooperative to handle.

And, she's beautiful!~

Indian Summer's Bridie

more_carys_and_bridie_jumping_059.jpg

** December 2009 -- Bridie has new jumping videos on youtube.com!! **
A 2005 foal by *Hohnhorst Branni (Patty's Benedict - Germany), out of Ballencrieff's Fleur de Lis (*Hearnesbrook Dunoon - England), Bridie was inspected and approved in 2008, and has matured to 14.1 h. She is working under saddle, has just started jumping and has taken field trips and trail rides off the farm. Quiet and sensible, Bridie seems to have what it takes to become a child's hunter or western pleasure pony. She's very flashy, too, with her roan coat. Bridie is priced at $7,500.00, to increase with her experience.

Carys is a beautiful kind mare and a wonderful mother. She's " also become a super riding pony and hunter show ring candidate. She is working under saddle and jumping small courses. We hope to get her to some schooling shows over the winter of 2009/2010. See more pictures of Carys under Bell's album. She's also the first horse you see when you visit our home page. Carys is priced at $7,500, to increase with her miles under saddle. See July 4, 2009 video of Carys under saddle and subsequent jumping videos from August, 2009 on YouTube. Cady O'Daly Limerick

limmy_head_shot~0.jpg

***** To encourage interest in Lim as a broodmare, her price has been reduced (January 2010). ******
Lim was my very first Connemara! She's a 1999 mare by Aladdin out of Oaktree Greystone Colleen. Inspected and approved when she was five, she received many "excellent" scores and comments of "good Connemara performance mare," "well balanced and well conformed mare" and "good forward movement." Lim has one foal and years of trail riding experience. She has some dressage training and is a natural jumper. She's easy to be around with excellent ground manners. Lim does have some "opinions" and requires an experienced rider. She stands 15hh with over 8 inch bone. She is dark bay with a wishbone blaze. Lim's price has been reduced to $7,500.00. Check out her short video on YouTube. (Search Indian Summer Farm's Cady O'Daly Limerick.)

Indian Summer

indian_summer_sleeping_in_sun.JPG

Indy is the horse we named the farm after!
He's 16 years young (in excellent health w/o any issues) and a wonderful trail horse. He's trustworthy and reliable with a friend, but can be herd bound alone. He is the perfect husband horse -- loads easily, loves to trail ride, and swings along at a nice pace on a loose rein in an English or Western saddle. He has a soft mouth. I ride him in a loose ring snaffle. I protect him with a soft rubber bit, when my husband rides. He is certainly going to waste simply minding the youngsters. (Although he makes a wonderful babysitter.) No vices. Easy to work with and to be around. Asking $1,500 to a good home, only. Negotiable to a permanent home.

"Indian Summer's Keelin"

kee_schooling_3.jpg

Keelin is a 2004 dun mare by An Tostal winner Kerrymor Madison (Lynfields Kiltuck) out of Beacon's Piper (Balmullo's Beacon). Kee is a beautiful mare with talent and a work ethic. She loves her job and is proving very good at both jumping and dressage. Her second dressage test earned the judge's comment "A super (underlined) talented, energetic, horse."

Keelin was inspected and approved on October 5, 2008.

She was sold on September 7, 2009 to Glenda Wieland for her daughter Sarah to event. We look forward to hearing of their many adventures!

Darby is Carys' 2005 foal by Ballywhim An Luan. He has gone to live with Sheila Thakor to pursue a career in both dressage and endurance! Sheila writes regularly to give us news of Darby and his travels. He is acting as an emissary for his breed in Wisconsin! Recently Sheila celebrated Darby's birthday in style with twenty friends and a feast, including organic carrots and apples for the horses.

Kaylee

DSCI1663.jpg

Kaylee, now four, belongs to Tina and Paige Johnson in Virginia. Tina reports: "Sorry, we lost touch for awhile. No worries about Kaylee, she is still in our lives and we love her dearly. ... I got her under saddle last spring, she was so easy! Really amazing. She is still super sweet, loves attention, is the boss in the field, first one to gate, talks to me if she hears my voice, runs the fence is she sees my car coming down driveway. The kids and I just adore her, truly. She has been a blessing, ... she is my peace, my sanity, my best friend, she is golden. She is walk, trot, canter, hacks out quitely, walks right on the trailer to go out, she is such a good girl. She filled out and matured beautifully, she is 14.3 hds as of right now, is still that dark mousey brown color (I believe you call it a dark dun) long legs with a beautiful swanlike neck. I'm gonna get some more miles on her this summer and then start taking her to some schooling shows and next year our goal is to do some crosscountry schooling and then onto low level eventing!"

Sadly Winding Down the Breeding Program.

colors_of_spring.jpg

For a number of reasons, both personal and economic, we have decided to wind down the breeding program and sell most of the mares. Not a dud on the place, they are all wonderful and beautiful mares that I love dearly. I hope to find them good homes where they will be loved and treated like princesses.
